Garden in the summer

Benn Jackson

As an artist, Ben enjoys exploring and experimenting with a range of disciplines, working this way allows Ben to see how his work can develop while building his practice. He works with digital and analogue technology in Video, Sculpture, Illustration and Print, always using the latter as a method to ‘finish’ a piece of work. Ben’s current practice is an experimentation of different process’s that never end or finish, pushing through different methods of print to create something different each time.

‘I have spent that past few years exploring the relationship between colour, shape and line. How an artist is influenced in making an artistic decision from the previous decision they have made; a colour, a shape a line, they influence the next decision made by the artist. I have explored this interest through collage, painting and print and it is different within each discipline and is very much a part of the process of making.’

The purpose of this exhibition is to explore and demonstrate how artistic decisions are influenced during the process of making.
